DOMINICA

This is our ship docked at Dominica Island.  This yacht next to us belongs to the guy over soft wear.

Enjoying the view.

Another ship docked by us.

Dominica has beautiful jungles.

This is a view of one of the areas they filmed the last "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie. In the far distance is an area called Scotts head.

We snorkeled at this area called Scotts head.  On the left you see the Atlantic ocean and to the right is the Caribbean.  The Atlantic side was rough and the Caribbean side was calm.

This was Bills favorite spot to snorkel, he liked the deep drop off out were the water is royal blue.  I did not think their were many fish, but it was beautiful.

Then our taxi driver took us to an area to snorkel called "Champagne"  it is known for it tiny bubbles from the thermic changes in the bottom  by the reefs.  This is a volcanic Island like many of the Virgin Islands.

Our taxi driver told us that this is called "bread fruit" that the natives eat.  He said they are very sweet.

This is the long bridge we walked on to get to Champagne.  While we were walking we could hear the leaves on the jungle floor rustle.  When we look we would spot Iguanas and lizards racing all over and up in the trees.

I am just getting out of the water after snorkeling for an hour over the champagne bubbles.  We saw a lot of fish, snakes, eels, and weird type vegetation in the reefs.

Beautifully lush jungles all around us.

I thought this was a pretty picture.

This is Bill and our Taxi driver Joe Lando who is a native in Dominica.  Everyone is from African American decent.  He took us out to Scotts head where they filmed the Pirates movie and then to Champagne.  He waited for us at each place and did not charge us much-60 bucks for about 4-5 hours.

On our way back to the ship, I saw a lot of natives selling coconut, I asked Joe if we could stop and he was very nice to do so.  We bought a 2 coconuts to drink the milk.

It was not as sweet as we have had before.

I was not as crazy about it like I would of wanted to be.  It was just fun saying we had coconut milk. Plus it was good especially after drinking salt water from the ocean.

We stopped at a market and got some fresh and delicious bananas.

Then back to the ship to board at 4:30p.m

This is truly how clear and turquoise the water was.
