I LOVE TO SEE THE TEMPLE-april 1-6,2009

It was cold outside, it rained one day and snowed along with wind. The last day sunday April 5th the sun began to shine. We took pictures of the beautiful Salt Lake Temple. It is always such a MAJESTIC SIGHT.

Waiting in lines and bargaining for and extra ticket..

When we arrived in SLC the first thing we did was go to get our conference tickets. Little did we know that we had to have our passports. Well, we had ours but Landon only had his license. So this began the search of the "extra ticket" for each session of conference. This tale starts out by walking to the conference center in the cold wind and sometimes snow early before conference started. We would then ask anyone if they had an extra ticket. By our good fortune we were lucky to have one good soul at each session of conference give us a ticket for Landon. We got to enjoy all 4 sessions plus Landon and Bill got to go to the Priesthood session. This was Landons first time at conference. We all enjoyed the music and talks by the prophet and apostles of the church. What a blessing to have been there and to hear the words of God.

TUCANOS RODILLA (BRAZILLIAN FOOD)

Landon was very excited to go to Tucanos for his" MEAT" extravaganza. This is a restaurant where you pay a certain amount and they bring as much food to your table as possible. Any kind of meat, fruits and vegtables including a huge salad buffet. It is just way too much food for anyone to ever eat. My favorite was the grilled pineapple with brown sugar glaze-DELICIOUS!!!!!!!

Friends Stephanie and Kent Miner

Stephanie has been a long time friend and co-worker with Bill since las Vegas Nevada. She is the director of LDS family services in American Fork. We had dinner with them at our famous place "el azteca". She is here with her baby, they are lots of fun to be with. Bill and Stephanie love to talk "shop" when they see each other.

our friend Paul from Argentina

On one of our free days before conference we met up with a friend from Argentina. We went to the mall and shopped and visited and took this picture. Then we grabbed a bite in the food court and visited some more. It was fun to see Paul.

Visit with Grandma Reid

Landon and I had a few days to be together while Bill was in his meetings. One day we went to Pleasant grove to visit with grandma Reid at the "Lake view elderly care" home. She is 93 years old. She knew who I was but could not remember my name until I told her. She thought Landon was my husband and asked him about 20 times if he had a girl friend. We visited and took her some easter lilies (grandma loves flowers), icecream (her favorite) and a card. We signed her book and took some pictures. We had a wonderful time with her, she was sweet and delightful. Star(her dog) was just as happy to see us too.

Beehive house tour

After lunch at the lion house. We went on the tour of Brigham Youngs home. It is always a wonderful experience to see this home. The history of the saints is always inspiring.

Lion house

We had lunch at the lion house, the food is like having a sunday home made dinner. We had roast with mashed potatoes and vegtables along with their famous rolls with honey butter yum yum. We had a piece of pie for dessert-I had apple and Landon had coconut cream.
