BACKYARD RETREAT-HOPEFULLY.

The plan is to get our garden planted, put up a fence on the sideyards and finish the water fall that runs down the rock river we did last spring, it will recyle back up to the water fall and continue to run. We will get patio furniture and awning over the patio, I want to be able to go outdoors in the back and enjoy the views of the mountains and weather. We are tring to get it done, it takes time and $$$

PLANTING THE BACKYARD.

Bill and I still have to plant our garden (which is in the dirt area) this year we are doing grow boxes instead of planting in the ground. Last year I had to pull weeds everyday to keep it controlled, we did good for our first garden. But I think it will be easier to maintain the growth and weeds in grow containers.

PLANTING THE SIDE YARD

After I planted flowers in the front yard, then I planted the side and corner yard. You don't realize how big the yard is until you start planting. You think you have bought alot of plants until you plant them they look minature in comparison.

OUR HOME

This is a view of our home from the church, you can see the back side of our home and the sidewalk next to our home, it is nice to be so close to the church.

PLANTING FRENZY!!

With the temperature being just right (79 degrees) and no more change of snow, just rain and seeing all the signs of spring. I took it upon myself to plant and pull lots of weeds. I spent 2 days and some $$$ to make our yard into a colorful landscape.

MORE PLANTS

I started pulling weeds and planting flowers in the front yard and around our rock garden. It started to look really nice.

MY TULIPS ARE BLOOMING.

I was so excited to see my tulips bloom, I planted the bulbs last October. I love their colors and they look so perfect that they seem fake. It is so nice to see color after all the cold winter.

I LOVE THE SIGNS OF SPRING.

One day when I walked Chiquita I took some pictures of the "signs of spring" in the neighborhood. I am enjoying this time of year while living in Utah. It is nice to see all the seasons.

MY NEW PHILIDENDRION (sp) PLANT

When I bought this plant a few days ago, I was somewhat hesitant due to its maintenance. But I was reassured at the garden center that they do well in moist shady spots. So I bought it because I just love the purple flowers.Planting takes a different type of soil more acid based and peat moss, so I will give it a try and hope my green thumb will not disapoint me.

MOTHERS DAY-MAY 8,2011

Bill got me roses( I took pictures a few days later-flowers are starting to droop) and a sweet card, Landon gave me a card, Sharae sent a card that her and Ian made for me. Thank-you to all my kids, mom, brothers and sweet husband who wished me a Happy Mothers Day this year. It means so much to me to be remembered on mothers day. I love being a mother and I am so blest to have such wonderful children. When I think about raising my children it usually brings tears to my eyes, sometimes it feels way too long ago, and at other times it feels just like yesterday holding their sweet little hands. I had so much joy raising my kids and today I still have that same joy but it is different. They now have their own families and I now enjoy watching them parent and seeing the love they have for their own families. NOW I THINK THEY KNOW JUST HOW MUCH I HAVE LOVED THEM ALL THESE YEARS.

SHARAE I THOUGHT YOU WOULD BE INTERESTED IN SEEING THE END PRODUCT OF WHAT I WAS WORKING ON WHILE YOU WERE HERE...

On wednesday night May 4th we had our weekday Relief Society meeting "Food Storage made Easy". It would have been fun if Sharae could have stayed and gone with me. I had to make a display for the entrance, so I was busy cutting these cards out on my cricut machine for our drawing. I finished them after Sharae left. I put each ward that was going to be attending and as the sisters would come in they would write their name on a paper and place it in the basket with their ward name on it. At the end of the night we drew the winner from the basket (ward) who was most in attendance. Our ward won, so we drew from the basket and one of our sisters from our ward won the dehydrator. It was a fun night. There is a web site "Food storage made easy" by Jodi and Julie. They came and showed people how to get started and it is called "Baby steps". Try it-go on the site and look around they have great ideas. Then we asked 5 sisters from each ward to make something from their food storage and bring it on a receipe card. Everyone loved trying all the different receipes. One sister made graham crackers and they tasted better than the store bought ones. I took my dehydrated tomatoes and apples to share. I am busy working on building our food storage-it is fun.

BYE AND LOVE YOU....

RAE DID NOT LIKE THE "POPARATZI" SHOT.
