When we arrived in Argentina I first served in the Primary as the secretary. Then I was called to be in the Young Womens presidency and I taught lessons every sunday in Spanish. The preperation was long and tidious for me to speak spanish to the young women. I learned so much through this calling. I taught the young women how to scrapebook, save recipes for when they get married, work towards their goals, the importance of excercise and how to sew and choose modest clothes. After that calling I served in the Relief Society as a secretary. I did not have to teach sunday lessons but had the privledge of preparing the Relief Society newsletter once a month and make birthday treats for the sisters who had birthdays each month. I also decorated the bulletin board for Relief Society (they do not do this in latin america-it is a new concept for them). Each month I had a new theme with cutouts and pictures and a pocket to keep the newsletter for them to read. I loved doing this because I love to create things. I also kept up the ward bulletin board and I took pictures of each family in the ward and put them up on the board with the title "Familias son eternas". Every sunday the members would just stand there admiring their pictures and took pride in seeing themselves. It made them feel important. If I ever forgot someones picture they would be sure to tell me or if a name was spelled wrong. I enjoyed serving in the church in Argentina and found the people to be humble, sincere and appreciative of anything. They admire and want to be around you all the time. I will miss them and remember them all my life.
