Hermana Carmen Moncayo y familia

She is a very courageous women and has alot of challenges. She is single and mends clothes for people and has a small business in her home. She has sewn a few skirts that were too big for me. She serves wherever she is needed, and helps everyone. She was also in my english class.

SATURDAY JUNE 6, 2009-FAREWELL PARTY FOR THE COOKS AND SPANNAUSES

The Spannauses will be a Mission President in Cuernavaca, Mexico. And of course we are leaving to go back to the States. The ward had a pizza party, talent show and Tango night for us. It was so much fun... First the Bishop asked Bill, me, Alin and Andrea to do the waltz. Then the Bishop announced that since he and his wife were unable to take us to get Tango lessons. Instead, They brought in a few couples to give us a show and to teach a few steps. Then there was a talent show, with a few sisters singing songs, and a farewell song dedicated to us, and another for the Spannauses. You will see them on this blog. I will miss these wonderful people so much, I have come to love them alot. Bill was released from the Bishopric on Sunday June 7, 2009. We received alot of hugs and kisses at the party along with lots of pictures. They also put our picture on a big poster board and everyone wrote us a little something to keep.

My English class

I taught english to the sisters in our ward. They really wanted to learn to speak english. We had fun, it took forever to get through 2 lessons. I had a little graduation for them, and gave them a diploma that states "BEST IN CLASS". They were so excited to get this recognition, it was like graduating from college. It was a great experience for me and it helped me with my spanish. I made a chocolate cake and took it for the celebration.

Caminito: The most famous street in La Boca is called Caminito(little path), and is the center of tourist activity in the area. The street is commonly shown on postcards for its multi-colored houses. Many artists also show off their work on the sides of the main street.

La Boca Soccer Stadium: The Boca Juniors is one of the biggest soccer teams in Argentina and happens to be one of the clubs that the soccer great Diego Maradona played for. Their stadium, La Bombonera, is not so surprisingly located in the La Boca barrio. It is possible to get tickets to most games and be a part of a truly Argentine experience. A Soccer Tour is a recommended way to experience this Argentine phenomenon.

La Boca is the oldest, most colorful, and most authentic neighborhood in Buenos Aires. The neighborhood was settled and built by Italian immigrants that worked in the warehouses and meatpacking plants in the area. La Boca is partly an artist colony, and mostly a working-class neighborhood.
