Happy New Year!!
Today is the last day of the year December 31, 2010. I took Bill to the Dr's and got his nasal packing removed. He feels so much better to be able to get air moving through his nose again. (It is just the little things we take for granite). He still has a splint in place that will be removed in 1 week. Now at least his tongue will not dry out with all his mouth breathing he had been doing. Tonight we plan to stay home as always, watch a movie, maybe play a few games if the men are up for it. We can only hope starting Jan 1,2011 will be not as eventful for us as December 2010 has been.
Happy New Year to everyone and we wish good health and prosperity will come to all of us,with the economy-WHO KNOWS!!! We just need to keep the faith that all will work out for the new coming year. Love to all of you-Family and Friends.

Bill in Phase 2 recovery
Bill was pretty sick after surgery, first he knew he wasn't going to be able to breathe out of his nose, but he vomitted alot of blood and was especially nauseated after he was given the Lortab. He was in recovery for 3-4 hours before he could come home. Right after surgery his blood pressure was really high 194/85. So they gave him Labaetolol and hydralazine to lower it, he came down to 114/70 and stayed there throughout recovery. I think the anti-emetics helped not to stress him so much. They kept changing his nose dressing, it kept bleeding. He tried to keep fluids down but couldn't. Finally when he was stable around 3pm they let me take him home. While he was in recovery I went and got his prescriptions filled. When we got home he sat up in the recliner to sleep at night because the packing in his nose is tight and he felt like he had alot of pressure like a sinus headache. He is now doing better and gets his packing taking out on Dec 31,2010 at 9 a.m. He is so excited. After I got Bill home, I checked in with Landon and he was doing ok, so I had to go back to the pharmacy and get his prescriptions filled out and then come back. When I got home I made homemade chicken noodle soup with homemade noodles. By the end of the day I was beat. It was the first day since I had been home from the hospital where I did alot of running around. It kinda got to me, so I was able to rest up that night and take it easy in the following days. We are all getting better and taking one day at a time. But it has truly been CRAZY for all of us.
Now it is Bill's turn-Early am 8:15, Dec 29,2010
First they got him in a room at McKay-Dee surgical center. He changed into a gown then they looked for a vein to start an IV in, but they could not find one. So after applying heat and searching some more they found one. Started him on LR at 100/hr. Then he spoke with Dr. Siddoway who explained what he was going to do. We went over what pain meds work for Bill and told him not to give him Lortab, so what did he do, he ordered Lortab which they gave him in recovery and he kept throwing up. (I tell you, you have to be vigilant in your own care, because sometimes they don't listen-I was frustrated with that). Then Dr. Carson the Anesthesologist came in to meet Bill, he recognized me from last night with Landon. He said boy! your family is going through alot.
After Landon got home he took these pictures of his dressings, he got to take them off on Tues Dec 30th.
Since I had to take Bill in Monday a.m Dec 29,2010 for his Rhinoplasty. Landon had a good friend of his named MJ that he works with. She was getting off work at noon and offered to bring him home. This helped me alot since I was with Bill and Landon would have had to stay in the hospital till at least 3 p.m. So, Landon got home around 12:30 on the 29th.
Landon's laproscopic Appendectomy Sunday Dec 28,2010-This is his story.
This is Landon in the ER and Landon's anestheologist Dr. Carson (who also did DAD)
He worked Christmas night all night (Dec 25,2010). He came home around 6 am and was ready to go to sleep, but couldn't because he had stomache pain. We thought it was the flu, but he did not have any other symptoms. Bill and I went to sacrament meeting and I set him up with tums, sprite and took his temp which he was afebrille. When I got home from church, he informed me that it was worse and he felt the need to go to the ER. (Well I wasn't happy to return again to the hospital since I just left there). But I did it for Landon's sake and I believed him and knew he must be really sick to want to go to the ER. We waited about 1 hour and 20 minutes, it was not too busy when we got their at 3 p.m. We finally got into an ER room and they examined him and Dr. Hansler (Surgeon) told him that he needed his appendix removed and that it was not a good idea to let it go, with fear it would rupture and Landon's pain was significant. So after his IV fluids were started and antibiotic given, Landon was off to surgery around 7:30 p.m. His surgery took 1 hour and then he was in recovery for 1 and 1/2 hours, then we met him in his room on the surgical floor room 2224. He looked surprisly good, with not too much pain after surgery. His dressings looked good and the only thing he had was a little nausea with incisional pain. We made sure he was all squared away in his room and then left around 9:30p.m because Dad was having his surgery in the morning. Landon wanted to get some rest and had a nurse that I knew well, so he was in good hands.

Christmas Day-December 25th,2010
Chiquita loves to stay warm by the fire when it is cold and snowy outside.
Landon had to work all night and got off work at 1:30 p.m. So we waited for him and then opened our Christmas. We took out time and had fun.
We will show you Chaquita's Christmas- she got some of her favorite dog cookies, a new booda toy (elephant), squeeky toy bone and some beef chew sticks. We played with her for a while, until Landon got home.
