Roatan Honduras-April 18th

Here we are where Bill had come when he was serving his mission 40 years ago.  The water is crystal clear and you can see the coral reef below.  It is truly beautiful.  We are going to scuba dive with the Dolphins today-yes, this is on my bucket list of things I want to do. Ashley and Landon took a taxi to go to a nice beach to snorkel.  Bill and I had to wait for our excursion to meet at noon.

So while we were waiting Bill wanted to walk up and down the street close to the port. While we were walking a guy walked with us and chatted to us for a while and then when we tried to say good-bye he asked for a tip, like he had done something for us.  We did not have any cash on us.

Yes, everything is the same as when I served my mission and came to Roatan.  We asked the people on the street if there was an LDS church here, they did not know!!!not a good thing.

We met up with our excursion group and took a shuttle to Anthony s  key to do our dive and meet the Dolphins.

This area of the Island was beautiful, across the way they have small bungalows to stay in while you stay at this resort and you can visit the Dolphin's.

This is the boat called "Andrea" which took us out to our dive site.

part of the resort.

We gathered our equipment-our diving tanks and BC D's (vest with our breathing regulators).  Bill and I took our own masks and fins.

Bill walking to boat with his gear.  The water temp 84 degrees, beautiful and calm.
Before our dive it was time to meet some Dolphins at the resort.

look how clear the water is
Meet Ronnie he is an older dolphin and we got to interact with him a lot before our dive.

He showed us his teeth and let us touch inside his mouth.

He flapped his flippers to say Hi to us.
He did a lot of tricks in the water.
He is really showing off now.....
He made 2 sounds with his blow hole.

We got to pet him, he was very soft and not slimy like I thought.

I am sitting the nearest in the picture.
Bill thought this was pretty amazing too.
Well, here is Ronnie doing his last favorite trick before we go.

I am ready to dive

Me too, can not wait to dive with Dolphins.

April 17th-Belize city

Today we had to ride tender boats into Belize.  The water was so choppy people off the ship were having a hard time getting on to the tender boats.
Bill is happy to go to Belize
We were both happy to make it on the tender boats without falling.
Once at Belize we took a bus an hour away to the zip lines and to tube in the water caves.
Ashley did all the research and found this company on line.  So she had all the info when we got to Belize.  Ashley you did a great job

We had a 45 minute hike to the caves.

Ashley is crossing one of the shallow rivers.

getting ready to get in the icy cold river water for our cave excursion.  We all just jumped in.
We got in our inner tubes after jumping in the water.
Bill this is going to be really fun.

and.... away we go.

the water was shallow so our tour guides had to push and pull us through the cave.

Landon is in the front, Ash was 2nd, I am 3rd and Bill was last.

Bill is taking the pictures.  Here we are entering the cave.

Coming out of the cave.

heading back to the start of the river.

When we got to our destination with cave tubing.com "Butts Up" I had to take this picture of Bill---

and one of Ashley too.  They tell you on the excursion to keep your butts up while in the inner tubes because some of the water is very low and your butt can hit the rocks and they say it does not feel to grand.

Picture of the happy 4 before we did the zip line.

Dad and Landon are ready to do this.....

I am ready too.

What an adventure

We are all going crazy to take on the Zip lines.

Landon was one of the first to do the zip line.

Ashley loved it.

This is Amazing

Bill is in the start gate-ready, set...

and he is off......

I am coming in for a landing.

Wow, this is so much fun...

Bills landing.

Did you get a good picture that time????

Yeah!baby lets do it again.

This was our excursion guide.

This excursion included a lunch of 1 tamale and we bought our own drinks.

Landon loved the tamales and went back for a second one, Ashley on the other hand was not a fan.

We laughed a lot on the bus because the driver was constantly singing the same song over and over, we grew to hate the song "Don't break up with my girlfriend".

Costa-Maya, Mexico-April 16th-tuesday.

Today the water was very choppy all of the water excursions were cancelled as well as our 2 tank dive that Bill scheduled at Costa Maya.  We took a taxi and went to the place our dive was to take place to confirm it was cancelled.  So instead we all stayed together on a beach and swam in the ocean and snorkeled and enjoyed the sun and ordered the best nachos and guacamole with chips.  We all got a great deal and had a 30 minute back massage right on the beach.  It ended up being a nice day.  I can not find the pictures I took of this port.  Boo-hoo.  We were pretty hungry when we got to the ship we ate and just called it a night.  No show tonight.

April 15th,-Monday-Day at sea.

Today we woke up and Bill and I went to the gym and worked out and met up with Ash and Landon for lunch.  Then we enjoyed being  out on the deck and just relaxed.  Everyone did there own thing.  The gulf of Mexico was a bit choppy but sunny. That night we went to a dancing show called "Band on the run" after dinner.  We went to bed since we had our first port in the morning.

Arrived at the Norweigan Star at noon. Sunday April 14th.

After we arrived on the ship we had lunch, Ashley and Landon walked around and Bill and I sat on the deck and listened to music.  Then we all unpacked our luggage after it arrived to our cabins.

Ferry boat on the Mississippi river.  The river was very dirty from the ships stirring up the bottom.

Just before the ship set sail at 5 p.m

It took 9 hours to sail out on the Mississippi, it was fun to see barges and ferry boats all along the Mississippi.  We got to the gulf of Mexico around 2 p.m

April 14th-Sunday-leaving the hotel in New Orleans and heading to the ship.

After having breakfast at the hotel, we had the hotel Shuttle take us to the docking area where the ships leave.

We are excited and looking forward to this much needed vacation.
